A capsule wardrobe should make getting dressed easier without sacrificing your personal style.
Your Capsule Wardrobe creates carefully curated men's capsule wardrobes built around distinct styles and aesthetics. Instead of telling you what your personal style should be, we give you wardrobes you can actually browse, wear and shop. So you can find clothes that fit your style, but remain in charge of choice.
Each capsule is intentionally small, with every piece selected to work with the others.
We look at fit, silhouette, colour, fabric, versatility and overall aesthetic to create wardrobes that feel cohesive without becoming boring.
The result is a smaller wardrobe with more combinations and, hopefully, fewer mornings spent wondering what to wear.
Finding the right capsule wardrobe usually means choosing between three options.
Follow a guide that tells you how to build a capsule wardrobe, but leaves you to do the searching yourself.
Take a style quiz that decides what it thinks you'll like and sends you towards a predetermined wardrobe.
Shop a ready-made capsule from one brand, limiting your choices to whatever that retailer sells.
Each approach has its drawbacks.
Either you have to do all the work yourself, or you give up much of the freedom to choose. And importantly, a capsule wardrobe isn't one-size-fits-all. You might prefer relaxed trousers. Or workwear. Or Scandinavian minimalism. Or something a little more classic.
Finding every individual piece that fits that style and making sure they all work together can be a slog.
That's why we built Your Capsule Wardrobe. Instead of starting with a list of generic essentials or telling you what you should wear, we do the searching and curation, and let you choose. Choose a wardrobe that looks like something you'd actually want to wear. Then pick the pieces that are right for you.
Every piece has to earn its place.
We consider:
Fit & silhouette
Does it fit the aesthetic and create the right proportions?
Versatility
Can you wear it with several other pieces in the wardrobe?
Quality
Is the fabric, construction and overall product good enough to justify a place in a smaller wardrobe?
Aesthetic
Does it actually contribute to the look we're trying to create?
Practicality
Would someone realistically want to wear this in everyday life? We're not trying to recommend the most expensive option or the most fashionable item of the moment.
We're looking for the right piece.
Pants: All pants have width x height sizes, so you can make sure they fit perfectly.
Cost: We avoid true budget items in favour of quality, but avoid brands that upcharge just for the brand. Quality is the first deciding factor, bringing cost down comes second.
Trend avoidance: We try to avoid items that are trendy so your wardrobe doesnt need to be changed yearly.
Some of the links on Your Capsule Wardrobe are affiliate links.
If you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you.
This helps support the site and allows us to continue researching, curating and maintaining the wardrobes.
Affiliate relationships don't determine which products we include.
We select products based on how well they fit the wardrobe first, if those items have an affiliate link, then that's a nice bonus.
